The Luxury of
time Written By Dorcas C. Chandler
Then we would get our other
brothers and sisters ready for school. Around six o’clock in
the morning raining or shining we would start walking to work.
My job was around three miles one way, I remember some morning it
was so cold, when I would reach my job I felt as if I was froze.
Never the less, we work and worked hard.

The picture perfect employee
As an employer what is
it you are really looking for? A good-looking person well
dress? Or someone who is highly qualified to do the job and
knows the ends and out of business grabble. Is it possible
to have both? Can one interview tell what a person is
really all about?
You hire a secretary,
who types 70wpm and you were only looking for 45wpm. The
person is good fast and quick on their feet. They have all
the right answers to the questions that you ask them. They
know how to do everything. Well skilled and also well
versed. Resume is picture perfect, everything anyone could
want or dream of. So you are on your way, you thought. You
take the picture perfect person and place them over all of
the other employees that have been with you for years. This
person is now over the office.
You introduce this
highly skilled person to your other employees. You are
excited; it’s about time that you got someone in the office
that knows just what they are doing. Things are beginning
to look up. Your other employee who is doing the same job is
not as fast, does not catch on as quickly. You give your
instructions to your new person; they understand everything
that is being said, it is almost like they worked here
before. You are so confident of this person, even thou you
just hired them. You announce to the staff after two days
that this is your new supervisor of the department.

“Relating To
Authority”
Authority means the right
and power to command, enforce laws, determine, influence, or
judge.
Do you know that you can’t
go anywhere without being under authority? Authority is a
powerful word. When one is placed in authority he or she should
always exemplify a manner of self-respect and control.
When a person in authority
is called upon to command, words as well as actions
should have the power to influence others.
Authority is a high value
of life. Without it there would be no system of
administration. Respect is earned, but authority is a given.
"Don't
Misuse the authority that you are given---it is a Gift to
influence others to do the right thing!"

Watch Your Temper in the workplace!

What is
Anger???
Web
Dictionary;
A negative emotional
reaction associated with other bad feelings such as fear,
disgust, shame, irritability, outrage, hostility and possibly
even violence. Actions resulting from anger often have negative
consequences, because the neurotransmitters/hormones (e.g.
adrenaline) released during anger intensify (strengthens)
impulsive action and clouds rational thought processes.
Lack of control, fueled
by lust, that may lead to aggression and eventual
annihilation (total destruction).
What is Adrenaline?:
A hormone secreted by the adrenal gland into the circulatory
system which stimulates the heart, blood vessels and respiratory
system.
"Don't allow your emotions to
get out of control when dealing with others in the workplace----take
a time out!"
